What information do we collect?
In General – We receive and store any information you enter on our website or give us in any other way. This includes information that can identify you (“personal information”), including your first and last name, telephone number, postal and email addresses and, if you make a booking through our site, details of your booking with us and credit card information (such as credit card number, cardholder name, and expiration date).
If you enter into correspondence with us regarding any booking, enquiry or complaint we may also keep details of that correspondence. You can choose not to provide information to us, but in general some information about you is required in order for you to register an account; purchase products; participate in a survey, competition or promotion, sign up for a newsletter or ask us a question.
IP addresses – We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
Social Media/Facebook –If you make use of any social media features on our website, the social media provider may send us information in line with their policies. That information may include your name, profile picture, gender, friend lists and any other information you have chosen to make available. If you wish to prevent that sharing, you can do so by editing your Facebook privacy settings or the relevant settings/preferences for other social media providers.
How we store your information
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password, which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone. New passwords can be issued on request where you believe that you personal security may have been compromised. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
How we use your information
Email Communications – We want to make it easy for you to take advantage of leisure/education-related opportunities on our website. One way we do this is by sending you email messages that contain information about your leisure/education -related interests. For example, we may send you an email or contact you if you have attempted to make a booking. Please note that you will have the opportunity to choose not to receive these email messages in any such email we send.
We also may share your information:
• In connection with a corporate transaction, such as a sale of a subsidiary or a division, merger, consolidation, or asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.

Marketing – You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data. You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us using the details below.
Social Media Services – You can choose to access certain third party social media websites and services (such as Facebook) through our site. When you do so, you are sharing information with those sites and the information you share will be governed by their privacy policies (including that the site may share information with us). When you open an email our software shows us information such as the number of times you have read the email and the links you have clicked. Tracking is only used on marketing emails and not email communications with The French Summer School staff.
